The root bridges of Meghalaya have attracted tourists from far and near. These bridges are a work of art, created almost 250 years ago by weaving the roots of rubber trees.

If Meghalaya is an abode of clouds, Cherrrapunji is perhaps its dewdrop. Nestled in the East Khasi Hills, Cherrapunji was formerly the wettest place on earth.
However now the title has been passed to Mawsynram, also in Meghalaya.
We kickstarted our Meghalaya expedition with the little known David Scott Trail. We had plans of moving to Cherapunji from Shillong, but instead of taking a vehicle, we decided to cover it on foot.
The trail is 16 km long and takes you to the Sohra highway. Sohra is the local name for Cherrapunji.
